Alien funk counterpoint meets avant-garde rock and minimalism in Blarvuster. This ensemble also infuses their rich sound with Celtic lines and South East Asian textures. Led by acclaimed bagpiper/composer Matthew Welch, the Brooklyn-based Blarvuster boasts a lineup of some of the brightest young stars in the New York experimental scene.

Matthew Welch is a virtuoso of the highland bagpipe, whose compositions range from bagpipe tunes to electronic music, full works for ensembles and orchestras, and Indonesian Gamelan.
