The Empty Vessel Makes The Loudest Sound - Viviane Houle
May 16, 2010 11-1PMadmission: Free to Western Front Members
Attentive Gathering ~ all ears all minds
Participants will engage in listening and sound making exercises guided by Viviane Houle.
Deep Listening®, originated by Pauline Oliveros is a form of meditation based on experiencing heightened awareness of sound, silence and sounding.
Deep Listening® is a philosophy and practice that distinguishes the difference between the involuntary nature of hearing and the voluntary selective nature of listening. The result of the practice cultivates appreciation of sounds on a heightened level, expanding the potential for connection and interaction with one’s environment, technology and performance with others in music and related arts.
